Hey there, my name’s Tim and I hope you like Hank Jr as much as I do. He is a wonderful country singer that speaks deep into my heart on a lot of different things. I’ve been through a lot of the things he’s sung his songs about. His music makes me feel so alive. It also makes me feel like he’s talking to me and letting me know I am not alone in what I am going through, no matter what it is. Troubles with the wife, work, paying bills, medical care, even, they are all a part of life.
Watching as my own children grew up; Hank Jr’s songs were a part of that, too. Everyone in my family loves country music, and Hank Jr’s is my own personal favorite. That’s why I decided to write out some of my thoughts about him. I want to share how I feel about this country great with you. (I have a secret hope that he will read these pages and send me a message, even if it’s to say I got something wrong, lol.)
One thing about Hank Jr that many believe to be true isn’t, and that is that he is a racist. This is completely made up and is not true. I have watched Hank Jr for the longest time and he is not a racist. He has even said that if it wasn’t for a black man who influenced his father, he wouldn’t be here. He’s even made a song about him, named Tee Tot. Others who helped influence him directly were Little Richard and Fats Domino, among others
